About

DXP is interested in the manufacture of art through traditional methods like block printing and through digital reproduction.  He most closely works with themes of anxiety and depression but also nostalgia and cultural critique.  The artist's work is often tounge-in-cheek, bringing light to serious or dark themes in a casually playful and light-hearted manner.  He is a strong believer in supporting those in need and also feels that art should always have a purpose; part of the proceeds from all his artwork is therefore sent to charities.  DXP's current projects include I Don't Want to Be Here and Loss of Brilliance.

Most of the work currently featured on the site comprises DXP's project I Don't Want to Be Here.  The project brings awareness to anxiety and depression - problems that are affecting a growing number of adults each year.  In the United States, anxiety disorders affect 40 million adults.  I Don't Want to Be Here takes the feelings associated with anxiety and spins them around, broadcasting them instead of keeping them managed and hidden.  DXP essentially uses his own anxiety to create a brand that can be manufactured and reproduced.

Loss of Brilliance is a project that aims at critiquing the progress of American culture.  By extracting timeless quotes from America's greatest leaders, activists, philosophers, and literary figures and infusing them into a current context, DXP forces his audience into awkward introspection where they are questioning how time, technology, and the evolution of the American spirit has affected values that make the United States of America unique.  Through this process, the artist asks the audience to question the American spirit.

You'll also sometimes find some fun, pop and nerd projects on the site.  You can find more of this work in DXP's etsy shop.

I am here to help you question your humanity."
